The students in third grade have really enjoyed doing hands-on science activities at St. John Fisher. They are learning that when scientists work together, they share information effectively and grow each other’s ideas. While working in teams, the students have made observations using a variety of tools. Having these hands-on learning experiences has led to the knowledge of how important it is to choose the correct tool and the correct unit of measure when making observations. The tools used have included a pan balance, stopwatches, meter sticks, graduated cylinders, thermometers, and hand lenses. We look forward to putting our observation skills to great use in Science this year.
