The benefits of having physical activity for memory retention and focus are of great importance for children at school, especially during stressful periods. The same can be said for the positive interactions of social-emotional learning that occurs during PE. Our students need physical education more than ever, and we need to adapt our spaces, equipment, and teaching methods to keep our children engaged and safe.
Physical Education helps students learn to be responsible, a valuable skill which can be applied their whole life. Posters are used during class to remind students of the basic rules of Physical Education, a daily self-assessment routine, and the good sport code. Another tool used is music which helps in keeping the students focused on the task.
Seeing the kids’ excitement, motivation, and their desire to do their best in Physical Education makes learning at SJF an exciting and rewarding experience.
