On Tuesday, May 17th fourth grade visited the Irvine Railroad Park in Irvine, California. Students were transported back to the early 1800’s to experience the California Gold rush era and learned how difficult life was back then. They washed clothes in a tub with a wash board, saw how to pitch a tent and learned about our early settlers. Gold was to be found in the river as students panned for gold and shouted “Eureka.” This trip reinforced our fourth grade social standards and help the students experienced first hand what life was like for our early settlers.
