Chapman University: Annual Holocaust Art and Writing Contest Finalists

For the last ten years, St. John Fisher Parish School’s eighth grade students have participated in Chapman University’s Annual Holocaust Art and Writing Contest.  The contest encourages students to view Holocaust survivor testimonies, choose on specific survivor, and create a piece of art, film, or writing based on the chosen survivor’s individual memories.  In this way, the Holocaust becomes a more personal experience for the students; and they, as witnesses, p[ass the memories on to future generations.  This done in conjunction with their novel study of the novel Night, by Auschwitz survivor and Nobel Prize winner Elie Wiesel.  Congratulations to our 3 finalists!
